Super inexpensive and the food was great. Maybe understaffed, as it took 45 minutes of wait for our takeout for 7 people to prepare.
I've been going to Tabares for years, both shopping in the market and eating in the restaurant (or getting takeout), and I've never once been disappointed. The market has a nice selection, and the restaurant food's great. My favorites: sio pao, lumpia, pancit guisado, pancit palabok, buchi, and I've just recently tried the chicken empanadas and become a fan of those as well. The staff's always friendly, the place is always clean, and the prices are very reasonable. If you're already a fan of Filipino food and you're looking for a good place, or you want to try something new, give Tabares a try.
Food was excellent. Buffet had a nice variety of authentic tasting dishes! AND they had LECHON!!! Will be back!

Try the array of daily made dessert from the market cooler on your way out : )
Much better than Chock Dee's. Good food and great siopao. And they will serve you ice in your drink.
Bukon pandan is hard to find but when you do, it is a treasure.... fresh coconut meat with gelatin & lightly sweetened cream [hint: green & served in a cup]
